Get into nursing school first
Before the NCLEX ever matters, most U.S. nursing programs require an entrance exam. Which one depends entirely on your school: programs that use ATI require the TEAS; programs on Elsevier's Evolve platform require the HESI A2. Check your program's admissions page — it will name exactly one of them.
