Frequently asked questions
Questions, answered plainly
What each plan includes, how upgrades and refunds work, and how our questions are actually written. If your question is not here, email info@carenursingprep.com.
Getting started
Is CARE Nursing free to try?
Yes. The Free Quiz gives you eight real questions from the same bank our paying students use, graded the same way, with the full rationale after each answer — including at least one question built around a real clinical chart or diagram. No account and no card are needed.
Do I need an account to try it?
Not for the Free Quiz. You only need an account once you buy access, so we can keep your progress, your history and your entitlements attached to you.
Which credential should I choose?
Pick the exam you are actually sitting: NCLEX-RN for registered nursing graduates, NCLEX-PN/LVN for practical or vocational nursing graduates, CNA for nurse aide certification, and Medication Aide for medication administration certification. Each has its own question bank written for that exam.
Can I use CARE on my phone, tablet or computer?
Yes. CARE Nursing runs in your web browser on any of them — there is no app to install, and your progress follows your account rather than the device.
Plans & pricing
How is access priced?
Four plans per credential — Starter, Basic, Premium and Complete. The two things that always increase as you move up are how much of the question bank you can reach and how long your access lasts. Mock exams and weak-topic tracking are included in every plan, including Starter; we do not hold back study tools to push you upward. NGN case studies are included with Premium and Complete, and Complete also gets new questions added during your access period.
What is included with my plan?
Every plan includes practice questions drawn across the whole blueprint, a written rationale for every answer option, timed full-length mock exams, weak-topic ranking, retry of questions you missed, and your full history. Higher plans reach more of the question bank and last longer, and Premium and Complete add NGN unfolding case studies.
How long does access last?
Each plan is a fixed number of days, shown on the plan before you buy. Your dashboard and account page always show the exact date your access ends.
Does my plan auto-renew?
No. Every plan is a one-time payment for a fixed period. Nothing renews automatically and there is nothing to cancel.
What happens when my access expires?
Practice content stops opening, and your account stays exactly where it was — your history and progress are not deleted. If you buy access again later, it picks up from there.
Can I upgrade my plan later?
Yes, and you are credited for what you already paid. When you upgrade within the same credential, the price of your current plan comes off the price of the higher one, so you pay only the difference — moving from Basic to Premium on NCLEX-RN costs $60, not $149. The upgrade takes effect immediately: the larger question bank and anything newly included open up straight away, and the new plan's full access period starts from the moment the upgrade completes. Credit applies within one credential — what you paid for NCLEX-RN does not reduce the price of CNA, because they are separate products with separate question banks.
What happens to my remaining days when I upgrade?
Your new plan's access period starts fresh at the upgrade. If you had 20 days left on Basic and upgrade to Premium, you get Premium's full 90 days from that moment — the two periods are not added together. Because every higher plan lasts longer than the one below it, an upgrade always leaves you with more time than you had, never less.
Can I buy preparation for more than one credential?
Yes. Each credential is bought separately because each has its own question bank, and your account holds them side by side. Your dashboard tracks each one's access and progress independently.
Does pricing vary by state?
No. Plan prices are the same everywhere. Your state matters for CNA and Medication Aide because those credentials are administered state by state, but it does not change what you pay.
Studying with CARE
Does CARE tell me whether I will pass?
We show you what we can actually measure, and we are careful not to invent the rest. You get your real results on every session, how you are doing topic by topic, which topics are your weakest, your full answer history, and the ability to retry exactly what you missed. The NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN are computer-adaptive exams: whether you pass depends on the exam's own estimate of your ability measured against NCSBN's published passing standard, not on the percentage of questions you answered correctly. NCSBN publishes that standard, but not the item-level data or the algorithm behind it, so nobody outside NCSBN can reproduce it — which is why we will not hand you a pass probability or a predicted exam score. Real measurement is more useful than false certainty.
Are there mock exams?
Yes, and they are included in every plan. They are timed, full-length, and built to the exam's own blueprint weighting rather than an even split across topics, so the mix of questions mirrors the real distribution.
Does CARE include chart and diagram questions?
Yes. More than a thousand questions are built around a real clinical exhibit — medication administration records, rhythm strips, lab trend tables, flowsheets and assessment worksheets — where reading the exhibit correctly is the actual skill being tested. The Free Quiz includes one so you can see them before buying.
Does CARE include NGN case studies?
Yes. These are unfolding case studies that follow one patient through a full clinical-judgment sequence, modelled on NCSBN's Clinical Judgment Measurement Model. They are included with Premium and Complete.
Which credentials have NGN case studies?
The case studies are authored at RN clinical-judgment level, so today they are included with NCLEX-RN. NCLEX-PN/LVN, CNA and Medication Aide do not have their own case studies yet, and we would rather say that plainly than imply coverage that is not there.
Can I study by topic?
Yes. You can work through a specific topic, and your review area lets you go straight at the topics where you are weakest rather than working front to back.
Can I retry questions I missed?
Yes. Everything you have missed is collected for you, and you can retry it in one go or topic by topic. Every retry shows the full rationale again.
How does weak-topic tracking work?
As you answer, we track your accuracy per topic and rank the topics where you are weakest. A topic you have barely attempted cannot jump the queue ahead of one you have genuinely struggled with, so the ranking reflects real evidence rather than a small sample. It is included in every plan.
Why do question counts differ by credential?
Because each credential has its own bank, sized to its own exam. NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN cover a much broader scope of practice than CNA or Medication Aide, so their banks are larger. Every count shown on the site is counted from the questions that actually ship.
Exams & credentials
Why does CARE ask for my state for CNA and Medication Aide?
NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN/LVN are single national examinations — the same exam wherever you test — so there is no state to choose. Nurse aide and medication aide certification are different: each state runs its own program, its own testing vendor and its own requirements, so we record which state's certification you are preparing for and set your account up for it. To be clear about what this does and does not mean today: our CNA and Medication Aide question banks are national — the questions are the same in every state — and they do not replace your own state's curriculum or skills checklist.
How is the content written and checked?
Every question is written from a recorded, authoritative source, and carries a traceable link back to the specific fact it tests — that holds for all 9,710 questions we ship, not most of them. Those sources are the NCSBN test plans for what the exams cover, federal regulation and government health agencies, professional-body clinical guidelines, and current nursing reference texts. Each question is then put through an independent review pass whose job is to try to disprove it: wrong keys, ambiguous stems, answers given away by the wording or by an exhibit, and options that are defensible but marked wrong. That review is automated and adversarial, and it catches real defects. It is not the same thing as sign-off by a licensed clinician, and we do not describe it as though it were.
Is CARE Nursing affiliated with NCSBN or my state board?
No. CARE Nursing is an independent exam-preparation resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or reviewed by NCSBN, any state board of nursing, any testing vendor, or your training program.
Does CARE replace my nursing program?
No. CARE Nursing is a study aid for the exam. It does not replace your program, your clinical hours, or — for CNA and Medication Aide — the specific requirements and skills checklist your state sets.
Account & access
How do I reset my password?
Use the “Reset your password” link on the login page. We email you a secure, single-use link that takes you straight to setting a new one. If it does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder before requesting another.
Where do I see how much access I have left?
Your account page lists every credential you hold, whether it is currently active, and the exact date each one ends. Your dashboard shows the same thing at a glance.
Is my progress saved if I stop and come back?
Yes. Your answers, history and topic performance are attached to your account, not to a session or a device, so you can stop mid-study and pick up where you left off.
Refunds & support
What is CARE Nursing's refund policy?
Every Starter plan is non-refundable — NCLEX-RN Starter ($29), NCLEX-PN / LVN Starter ($29), CNA / Nurse Aide Starter ($19), Medication Aide Starter ($19), ATI TEAS 7 Starter ($29). You will see “No refunds” at checkout before you pay. Every other plan, on every product, can be refunded within 7 calendar days of purchase — just email us. We keep the entry plans non-refundable because they are priced close to the cost of running them, and we would rather be plain about that up front than bury it.
How do I request a refund?
Email info@carenursingprep.com from the address on your account, within 7 days of your purchase, and tell us which plan you bought. If your plan is eligible we will process it back to your original payment method.
How do I contact CARE Nursing for help?
Email info@carenursingprep.com or call 831-239-5025. Either reaches a person, and it is the right place for access problems, billing questions, refund requests, or telling us you think a question is wrong — the last one genuinely helps us.
I think a question is wrong. What do I do?
Tell us at info@carenursingprep.com and include what you saw. Every question is traceable back to the source it was written from, so a specific report is something we can actually chase down and fix rather than debate.
Still have a question?
Email us and a person will answer. If you think one of our questions is wrong, tell us — it genuinely helps.
