What we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Written to describe what the product actually does, in language you should not need a lawyer to read.
Last updated September 5, 2026
1. The short version
We collect what we need to run a study product you paid for: your email address, your practice history, and a record of what you bought. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and there is no advertising or cross-site tracking anywhere on this site.
The rest of this page is the detail behind that sentence. If anything here is unclear, email info@carenursingprep.com and a person will answer.
2. What we collect
Your account. Your email address, and a password if you set one. We never store your password itself — our authentication provider stores a cryptographic hash of it, and nobody at CARE can read it or recover it for you.
What you study. Every practice question you answer, the option you chose, whether it was correct, and how long the session took. This is the product: it is what your progress page, your weak-area practice and your missed-question review are built from. Without it the product cannot tell you anything about how you are doing.
What you bought. Which plan, for which exam, when, how much, and when the access period ends. Also whether a purchase was refunded.
Email we sent you.A record that a particular message — a purchase confirmation, a password reset — was sent to you and when. This is how we can answer “I never got my receipt”.
Technical records. When something breaks, our error monitoring records the error and enough technical context to fix it. It is configured not to attach personal information to error reports, and it does not record or replay your screen.
We do not ask for and do not want your date of birth, your address, your nursing licence number, your school, or any health information about you or anybody else.
3. Why we collect it
To give you an account you can sign back into; to show you your own progress and adapt practice to it; to know which plans you are entitled to and until when; to send you the transactional email that goes with a purchase or a password reset; to answer your support questions; to fix crashes; and to keep records we are required to keep for a paid transaction.
We do not use your study data to build a profile for advertising, and we do not use it to make any decision about you outside this product.
5. Payments
Card details never reach us.Payment is handled entirely on Stripe’s own checkout page. We never see, receive or store your card number, and there is nowhere in our systems it could be kept.
What comes back to us from a completed payment is: which plan you bought, the amount, and identifiers we use to match the payment to your account and to handle a refund if you ask for one. Stripe processes your payment as its own controller under its own privacy policy.
7. How long we keep it
Your account and study history stay until you ask us to delete them. That is deliberate: when a plan ends, your history is not wiped, so if you come back — including months later — your progress is still there. Section 8 tells you how to have it removed.
Purchase records are kept longer, even after an account is deleted. A record that a payment happened is a financial and tax record, and we keep it for as long as the law requires. Where we keep it after you have deleted your account, we keep the transaction, not your study data.
Error reports and email-delivery logs are kept only as long as they are useful for support and debugging.
8. Your data, and how to get it or delete it
Email info@carenursingprep.com from the address on your account and ask. You can:
- Get a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct it if it is wrong.
- Delete your account and the study history attached to it. This cannot be undone — your progress, answer history and weak-area data go with it, and buying again later starts from nothing. Access you have paid for ends at the same moment; deleting your account is not a refund request, and if you want a refund instead, ask for that (see the refund terms).
We will not treat you differently for asking. We may need to confirm you are the account holder before we act, which is a protection for you rather than an obstacle.
9. If you are in California
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, to request a copy of it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of those rights. Sections 2, 4, 7 and 8 answer the first three; section 8 is how you exercise them.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising — so there is nothing here for you to opt out of. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information as California law defines it.
10. How we protect it
Everything is served over HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as hashes, by our authentication provider. Access to customer records is limited to the people who need it to run the business, every administrative action is checked against that person’s own identity, and administrative changes to a customer’s access are written to an audit log.
No system is perfectly secure and we will not claim otherwise. If a breach ever affected your information, we would tell you.
11. Children
This product is built for adults preparing for nursing examinations and admissions tests. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant — a new category of data, or a new party receiving it — we will tell account holders directly rather than relying on you to re-read this page.
13. Contact
Questions about your data, a request for a copy, or a deletion request: info@carenursingprep.com, or 831-239-5025. A person reads it.
See also our Terms of Use, which cover what you are buying, upgrades and refunds.
